Accor, the world's largest hotel and restaurant group, has announced that it will open at least ten new hotels in Davao City, Philippines, over the next three years as part of its global expansion strategy. Accor will add a record number of new hotels to its portfolio - nine have been signed this year, managed by international augmented hospitality groups. This will bring the number of hotels to over 100 hotels and resorts across the country as we see a robust recovery in our country's tourism. Thai hotel developer Dusit International, based in Thailand, has announced a new partnership with the Philippine Tourism Authority (PTA) and the Ministry of Tourism and Culture (DTC), in which it will open a total of 10 hotels, restaurants, bars and entertainment facilities.
The nine newly signed hotels represent an additional 2,155 rooms, which will increase Dusit's current 27 hotels and expand the group's overall pipeline. The company aims to have 14,000 guest rooms in more than 20 countries by 2021, with the aim of expanding its hotel portfolio to more than 100 hotels, restaurants, bars and entertainment facilities. Basset said: "Accor remains the world's largest hotel and restaurant group with a strong presence in Asia Pacific and the Middle East. It plans to open two more hotels in the Philippines, one in Davao City and one in Manila, bringing the total number of Marco Polo properties to 18 by 2018.
The 14 new hotels include six brands that will debut in the Philippines, including Accor's flagship brands Marco Polo, Dusit, Hotel de Marrakech and Hotel Le Meridien.

The next step for Dusit International will be the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer (CFO) for the Davao City hotel chain. Dusits International will shortly appoint its first Executive Vice President (ERO) and Chief Financial Officer, as well as the first Chief Operating Officer of the Asai Group in the Philippines, and shortly thereafter its second Executive Director (CEO).
Prior to joining Dusit in 2015, Panyasuksri was Chief Operating Officer of Asai Group in the Philippines and a member of the Board of Directors. Prior to joining DUSIT in 2014, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of International Hotel Group. That same year, Dumit also appointed Saman Sarathchandra as Chief Executive Officer of his Davao City hotel chain, which is also scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2019. Before joining Disayo in 2016, he was Managing Director of its operations in Asia Pacific and Latin America.
Prior to joining Dusit, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of International Hotel Group and as a member of the Board of Directors of Asai Group in the Philippines and the Board of Directors of Disayo Group. The Davao City Accor Hotel, the first of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region, is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2019. Prior to joining DUSIT, she was Chief Executive Officer and President of Global Hotels & Resorts International, a global hotel chain with more than 2,000 hotels and resorts.
